De acuerdo con el informe sobre estado de las pesquer\u00edas de la Subsecretar\u00eda de Pesca y Acuicultura, actualmente se encuentra en estado de sobreexplotaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>La veda biol\u00f3gica proh\u00edbe la extracci\u00f3n del recurso desde la regi\u00f3n de Los Lagos hasta Magallanes, de acuerdo con el decreto exento N\u00b0140 de la Subpesca, que tambi\u00e9n proh\u00edbe la comercializaci\u00f3n, procesamiento, almacenamiento, transporte del recurso fresco en todo el territorio nacional. Estas acciones est\u00e1n tipificadas como un delito pesquero.<\/p>\n<p>El objetivo de esta medida de administraci\u00f3n es proteger la especie durante el peak de su per\u00edodo de reproducci\u00f3n, que de acuerdo con los estudios realizados por IFOP, ocurre en agosto.<\/p>\n<p>Desde Sernapesca hacen un llamado a la ciudadan\u00eda a sumarse a la campa\u00f1a \u201cPara que no se agote, tiene que pasar agosto\u201d y respetar la veda, optando por el consumo de otros pescados y mariscos. En caso de detectar venta de merluza austral en estado fresco, realizar denuncias al 133 de Carabineros, al 134 de la PDI o al 800 320 032 de Sernapesca.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><\/div><div
